Begin your learning journey by gaining foundational knowledge in five key areas: Bias, Stereotypes & Microaggressions, Race and Anti-Racism, LGBTQ+ Identities and Culture, Ableism and Inclusion, and Allyship and Advocacy. This combination of modules provides broad-based knowledge and strategies which can be immediately applied in your workplace, your community, and during interpersonal interactions. No matter what your current role and DEI interest, beginning with a strong foundation will leave you feeling confident and empowered to focus on special topics of interest later in the course.
Additionally, this course includes the Coalition-Building DEI Special Topic. The Coalition-Building modules focus on creating an understanding between diverse groups of people, help to foster communication, and include actionable strategies for interactions in the global community. Topics include Intergroup Dialogue, Intercultural Communication in a Globalized World, and Indigenous Perspectives: Miami Nation. Broadening perspectives in an increasingly diverse world sets the tone for successful intercultural interaction in any setting.
